A Tree-mendous Tradition

A Tree-mendous Tradition

Each year, the UK cultivates an impressive 7 million Christmas trees, with around 2,240 hectares of land dedicated to popular varieties like Nordmann Firs, Norway Spruces, Fraser Firs, and other festive evergreens. To visualize this, imagine 120,000 typical UK gardens brimming with the crisp, piney scent of Christmas.

Among these, the Nordmann Fir stands out as the top choice, making up 75% of all sales due to its soft, needle-retaining foliage and perfectly balanced shape. The remaining 25% features traditional Norway Spruces, aromatic Fraser Firs, and other specialty varieties. While each tree type has its loyal fans, the iconic fragrance of real Christmas trees is a national favourite—recently ranked eighth among the UK’s most cherished scents, nestled between the refreshing sea breeze and the allure of perfume.

As property professionals, we understand the importance of outdoor spaces for homeowners and renters alike. The Property Academy Renter Survey 2024 found that 64% of renters are more likely to stay longer in a property with access to a garden or outdoor area. Whether it's for planting flowers, growing vegetables, or perhaps even cultivating your own holiday tree, a garden often transforms a house into a home.

This festive season, as you decorate your Christmas tree, take a moment to reflect on the land and care behind it—and the joy it brings. And if you’re dreaming of a home with a garden big enough to grow your own evergreen, remember: while it might take years for your tree to reach its full glory, finding the ideal property could be much faster with the guidance of an experienced estate agent.

Have a TREE-mendous Christmas! 🎄

As the founder of Pendle Hill Properties, I’ve been helping homeowners in Burnley, Padiham, Longridge, and the Ribble Valley for over 17 years. One important lesson I’ve learned is that relying solely on property portals like Rightmove or Zoopla is no longer enough to guarantee a quick sale.

We buy a new house to call home with emotions, not logic. So, to capture potential buyers' attention when trying to sell your property, embrace the emotion. This article will show you how effective emotional marketing can be in selling your property.

A cherished holiday tradition that brings a touch of magic to the season is crafting Christmas wish lists. Each year, many people write a list, hoping to receive the gifts of their dreams. But what do home movers want on their wish list?

Over the past 12 months, the rental market in Longridge and its surrounding villages has seen the average rent rise to £1,038 per month, marking a notable 16% increase in the last 12 months. This rise in rent prices reflects broader trends in both the local housing market and the growing demand for homes in these picturesque, semi-rural areas.
