Pendle Hill Properties take to the dancefloor for charity at Strictly Come Longridge

Longridge has a great community atmosphere, and since moving there and opening new premises at 74 Berry Lane, Sales Director of Pendle Hill Properties, Thomas Turner has become a familiar face in the community. So much so, that he has been invited to take to the dancefloor for this year's Strictly Come Longridge with his fiancé Lydia!

The annual Charity Gala is held in aid of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, a charity supporting world-class cancer care across Lancashire & South Cumbria. The competition consists of eight weeks of practise and lessons, followed by a dancefloor showdown at the Gibbon Bridge Hotel on 6th April.

Hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire's Graham Liver, the glamorous evening will see the couples take to the floor and give their best performance in front of Head Judge, professional Ballroom and Latin dancer and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Ian Waite. He will sit alongside fellow judges, last year's champions Will and Be Smith, and Ribble Valley Mayor Cllr Mark Hindle!

Thomas Turner said, "We're complete beginners and just can't wait to get started. We will be doing our best and I'm very competitive so hope to take home the top prize in what will be a fantastic evening for charity!"

Thomas and Lydia are being trained by organisers of the event Elissia Whitter and Callam Thomson, owners of The Old Station Café in Longridge. By night the couple run their dancing school Precision Dance Academy, and Callam is a former champion ballroom dancer so the couple are in good hands.
